1. Algorithm: An algorithm is a procedure used to solve a problem or perform a calculation. It consists of a finite sequence of instructions that are followed step by step to achieve a specific objective.
2. Database: A database is an organized collection of structured information that is stored and accessible electronically. Allows you to store, manage and retrieve data efficiently.
3. Encryption: Encryption is the process of converting readable information into an unreadable format to protect it from unauthorized access. Used to ensure data confidentiality and security.
4. Firewall: A firewall is a security barrier used to protect a network from unauthorized access. Acts as a filter that controls network traffic and blocks or allows the passage of data according to established security rules.
5. GUI (Graphical User Interface): A graphical user interface is a visual environment that allows users to interact with a computer system using graphical elements, such as icons, windows and buttons. Facilitates user interaction and navigation in a system.
6. HTML (Hypertext Markup Language): HTML is a markup language used to create web pages. It allows you to structure and present the content of a web page using tags and elements that define the appearance and format of text, images and links.
7. IDE (Integrated Development Environment): An integrated development environment is a tool that provides a set of features and tools to facilitate software development. Includes a code editor, debugger, and other utilities that help programmers write, test, and debug their code more efficiently.
8. Malware: Malware is malicious software designed to damage, infect or compromise a computer system. May include viruses, worms, Trojan horses, ransomware and other types of malware.
9. Network: A network is a set of interconnected devices that share resources and communicate with each other. It can be a local area network (LAN) that connects devices in a limited area, or a wide area network (WAN) that connects devices in geographically dispersed locations.
10. Operating System: An operating system is software that manages the hardware and software resources of a computing device. Provides an interface between the user and the hardware, and allows the execution of programs and the management of files and processes.
11. Programming Language: A programming language is a set of rules and symbols used to write computer programs. Allows programmers to communicate with a computer and give it instructions to perform specific tasks.
12. Software Development: Software development is the process of creating, designing and programming software. Includes activities such as requirements analysis, architecture design, coding, testing, and software maintenance.
13. User Interface: The user interface is the means through which a user interacts with a computer system. Can include visual elements, such as buttons and menus, as well as input elements, such as keyboards and mice.
14. Virtual Reality: Virtual reality is a technology that creates an immersive, simulated experience in a virtual environment. Use devices such as helmets and gloves to provide a sense of presence in a virtual world.
15. Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity): Wi-Fi is a wireless network technology that allows connection to the Internet and communication between devices without cables. Uses radio waves to transmit data wirelessly.
